Lavender Season Comes Alive in Monterey County with U-Pick, Yoga, and More
Greenfield, CA – For the first time ever, Lavender Creek, a family-owned wellness brand and working lavender farm in South Monterey County, is opening its fragrant fields to the public this summer. Beginning Saturday May 24th and running through the end of June, guests are invited to a lineup of culinary and wellness experiences that include culinary lavender U- pick, tips for drying and using your lavender in your home and kitchen, as well as guided yoga and sound healing sessions by local wellness and fitness company Monterey Bay Moves.
Lavender Creek’s 2-acre lavender meadow, scenically located alongside E. Carmel Valley Road, offers guests a rare opportunity to experience a calming cultivar of true lavender also known as a top culinary variety. The farmstand location will host six weekends of nature- inspired experiences for the community, with private bookings for groups and employers available during the week.
Two Experiences to Choose From
Lavender U-Pick + Culinary Demos (Every Saturday & Sunday)
Guests are invited to stroll the rows, harvest fresh bunches of lavender, and attend culinary demos at 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM. These free sessions share tips on drying lavender, using it in the kitchen, and even how to make homemade lavender syrup for lattes or cocktails.
Yoga & Sound Healing (Select Saturdays)
Monterey Bay Moves leads a one-hour yoga and sound healing session in the field, surrounded by thousands of blooming lavender flowers. Following the session, guests are invited to harvest their own lavender and attend the culinary demo. Premium tickets include Lavender Creek’s hospital-trusted “Code Lavender” wellness gift set.
“The power of multi-sensory immersion in yoga and meditation practices cannot be overstated,” says Monterey Bay Moves CEO Elizabeth Plante. “When we combine the gentle stretching and mindful movement of yoga with aromatherapy using locally sourced
lavender, our participants experience a profound deepening of their practice.” Lavender Creek supports Monterey Bay Moves’ events and sessions with comforting products like their lavender refreshment towels, but this will be the first time the collaboration is hosted in the lavender.
“We always wanted to create a space where people could experience the healing power of lavender, so we are incredibly excited to partner with Monterey Bay Moves to offer the community and businesses these unique experiences”, says Lavender Creek Cofounder Ryan Hopkins.
Lavender Creek is also known for partnering with Employee Wellness departments across the country by providing aromatherapy to nurses, teachers, and staff. However, this summer marks the beginning of hosting private wellness experiences for Employee Wellness teams and employers seeking retreats and team-building exercises.
Whether it’s for the yoga and sound healing, or just to enjoy time outside in the lavender, everyone is welcomed to make a trip out to the beautiful Arroyo Seco area and experience Lavender Creek.
Lavender Creek is located at 45217 Carmel Valley Road, just outside of Greenfield. The family-friendly event is hosted entirely outdoors. Visitors are encouraged to bring sun protection, water, and walking shoes.
